MONTEVALLO, ALABAMA. . .Ann Robinson Helms, a resident of Montevallo, Alabama, stepped into her long-awaited Heavenly home and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Sunday morning, January 3, 2021, at her home. She was 88.


The family is so grateful for and blessed by God’s provision and assurance of the joy of salvation she experienced during her life and especially during the last few days.


       Private graveside services for the immediate family will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 5, 2021, in the Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Blue Springs, Alabama, with Reverend Bob Weber officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of funeral arrangements. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.


       Mrs. Helms was born in Lebanon, Tennessee and grew up in Ashville and Pell City, Alabama, daughter of the late John Roland Robinson and Jane Dozier Robinson. She formerly lived in Montgomery, Birmingham and Abbeville, Alabama before moving to Montevallo in 1998. Mrs. Helms was a member of the Wilton Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Ray Helms, Jr., a sister, Jane R. Cobb and two brothers, Charles E. Robinson and John R. Robinson, Jr.


       Surviving relatives include a daughter, Jann Helms Smith (Jeff), Montevallo; two sons, William R. “Bill” Helms (Penny), Pike Road, AL; and Gregory A. “Gregg” Helms (Jamie), Panama City Beach, FL; nine grandchildren, Jackson Smith (Kteile), Metta Smith, Ben Smith (McKenzie), Josh Dybzinski  (Jess), Leslie Christenberry (Brad), Graham Helms, Tucker Helms (Cameron), Haley Parker (Russ), Harrison Helms and Heidi Peterson (Dakota); seven great-grandchildren.                                                                       In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church, the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, or the charity of your choice.
