ANNA  SINGLETARY

NEWVILLE. . .Anna Singletary, a resident of Newville, died late Tuesday night, July 17, 2018, at her home. She was 66.

            Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, July 20, 2018, in the Newville Baptist Church with Reverend Norman C. Simmons and Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Friday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Newville Baptist Church, PO Box 13, Newville, AL 36353.

            Anna Singletary was born in Washington, D.C. and was reared in Henry County, near Abbeville, by Jessie and Laura Shirey. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and the Wallace Community College of Nursing where she received a certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Anna was a member of the Newville Baptist Church. She was retired from Flowers Hospital as an L.P.N. Anna was also formerly employed by First Med as an L.P.N.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Jimmy D. Singletary; a daughter, Dr. Janie Singletary Jones (Shad), Prattville; two sons, Clint Singletary (Jill), Hershey, PA and Luke Singletary, Newville; three grandchildren, Carson Mohajerin, Hayden Singletary and Havannah Singletary; a sister, Jenita Wilkinson (Robert), Blue Springs; and a brother, Buddy Ward (Charlene), Blue Springs.
