SHORTERVILLE. . .Annie Elmina Hutto Mills, a resident of Shorterville, died Sunday night, July 31, 2022, at her home. She was 92.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 3, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Mickey Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. Mills was a lifelong resident of Shorterville, daughter of the late Charles Jefferson Hutto and Ada Lee Whatley Hutto. She was engaged in farming with her family most of her adult lifetime. In earlier years, Mrs. Mills was employed by WestPoint Stevens. She was a member of the Old Zion Baptist Church and was a former member of the Henry County Cattlemen’s Association. Mrs. Mills was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Mills, a sister, Ruby Hutto Strickland, and three brothers, John C. Hutto, Charles A. Hutto and Robert E. Hutto.
Surviving relatives include her son, Gary E. Mills, Shorterville; four grandchildren, Matthew Mills, Zachary Mills (Samaria), Gracie Manley and Eleri Mills; several great-grandchildren.
