COLUMBIA…Arietta Hickman Elliott, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021, in Signature HealthCARE of North Florida in Graceville. She was 92.

   Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 23, 2021, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 A.M. Thursday in the Holman-Headland Mortuary chapel. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Springs Baptist Church, in c/o Dina Burdeshaw, 13205 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319.

   Arietta Elliott was born and reared in the Hebron Community, daughter of the late Robert Henry Hickman and Kate Vinson Hickman. In earlier years, she and her husband owned and operated Columbia Milling Company. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Camp Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Elliott, Sr., and four sons, Jackie Elliott, George Elliott, Jr., Ronnie Elliott and Bobby Joe Elliott.

   Surviving relatives include her daughter, Shirley Robinson (Ray), Abbeville; a son, Rev. Larry Elliott (Patricia), Columbia; special daughters-in-law, Sue Elliott Kelly, Diane Elliott, Peggy Elliott Brannon, Joy Elliott Littlefield, Ann Elliott, Jean Elliott Nall and Marsha Gamble Elliott; two sisters, Aline Snellgrove, Headland; and Betty Ann Singleton (E.B.), Miramar Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren, Mark Elliott, Michelle Harrelson, Denise Knight, Joey Elliott, Kevin Elliott, Johnny Elliott, Stacy Elliott, Jamie Elliot, Ashley Elliot, Mandy Elliott Littlefield and Casey Elliott; numerous great-grandchildren.
