Arthur "Ray" Lucas

Ray Lucas, 87, of Dothan passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Mr. Lucas was born in Fort Riley Kansas on November 2, 1932. A longtime resident of Dothan Mr. Lucas was a Lifetime Member of the Dothan Elks Lodge, a member of the Dothan National Golf Course for 32 years and a member of the Canal Zone Mens Golfing Group for 25 years.

He retired from Sears after 30 years of service; 15 of those years he served as Manager of the Appliance Department.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Nellie (Jackson) Lucas and sons David (Marie) Lucas of Dothan and Dennis (Pam) Lucas of Navarre, FL. He is also survived by his grandsons, Brannon (Kristen) and Hayden Lucas and great grandchildren, Kingsley and Karas Lucas, in addition to two brothers, Kenny (Donna) and Harry (Lou Ann) Lucas and his sister Barbara (Phil) Rutkowski.  Ray loved and cherished his family dearly and was proud of each and every one of them.

A simple cremation service will be arranged at a later date.

It is Ray’s heartfelt wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Dothan Animal Shelter, 295 Jerry Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.
