Date of Service Graveside services will be held jointly with her mother, who also passed away on August 9, 2021, Carlette Butler, at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Catherine Newman officiating. The family will receive friends in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.

God’s light shined brightly on March 30th, 1985. On this day, the world was blessed with his precious child, Ashley Shakeela Butler.


Graveside services will be held jointly with her mother, who also passed away on August 9, 2021, Carlette Butler, at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Catherine Newman officiating. The family will receive friends in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday from 1-2 pm.


Ashley was born in Dothan, Alabama to Carlette Butler and Cedric Butler; her mother preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Jimmy Butler; her grandparents, Lola Mae Powell and Jack Powell; and her uncle, Lorenzo Powell.


Ashley transcended from Earth on August 18,2021. She gave her life to Christ and was a member of Mt. Olive Church, Abbeville, Alabama.


Ashley’s signature color, Yellow, is the most luminous of all the colors on the spectrum. Yellow captures everyone’s attention before any other color, just as Ashley’s spirit captured the hearts of everyone she met.


Ashley’s love for her family and friends was IMMEASURABLE. Spending time with her family and friends was of the utmost importance to her. She was blessed to have her big sister, Keela, as her best friend. Ashley’s soft spot was her heart; God blessed her with an enormous heart.



Ashley always had a smile on her face and she loved to laugh. Ashley was her family’s personal chief. She loved to cook.



Ashley’s style was impeccable. She was a FASHIONISTA. She loved makeup and she loved doing hair. Ashley’s love for traveling the world landed her in Africa several times.



Ashley’s memory will forever be cherished by her father: Cedric(Bridget)Butler; her sisters, Vakeela(Adrian)Brown and Aaliyah Butler; her grandmother, Alice Butler; her aunt, Denetrius Butler; her uncle, Vince Butler; her brother, Eric Moss; and her Aunt, Lula Bell( Dewey) Crawford.



Her Legacy will be sustained by her be loved nephew, Adrian Tyler Brown; niece, Gabrielle Alyse Brown; and the love of her life, Michael Okun.



Others who count it a blessing to have known Ashley, her entire Fluellen Family; her enter Butler family; and her    entire Okun family.











And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7(KJV)
