AUBREY “MYLES” GRANBERRY


COCOA BEACH, FL.…Aubrey “Myles” Granberry, a resident of Cocoa Beach, FL, passed away Thursday night, April 29, 2021, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Jacksonville, FL. He was 56.


            Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with his brother, Dowling Granberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Allen Capps officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.


            Mr. Granberry was born in Auburn, Alabama to Darbie Merwin Granberry and Hayward Jean Farmer Granberry. Myles grew up in Attapulgus, Georgia and graduated Bainbridge High School in the Class of 1982, where he excelled in baseball. After high school he attended Auburn University (1983-1987). After Auburn University he graduated from Brevard College in Aerospace Technology. He was the Senior Mechanical Technician, (Space Shuttle Program) while working with the THIOKOL CORPORATION, from 1987-1995. He started a landscape company and owned and operated it from 1996-2004. In 2004-2011 he returned to the Space Shuttle Program as Senior Quality Inspector, with United Space Alliance, where he earned Employee of the Quarter award for significant findings for Space Shuttle Safety. In 2011-2014 he went to Afghanistan during “Operation Enduring Freedom” as a Field Engineer Lead. From 2015-2019 he worked with Oceaneering International in Orlando, Florida. From 2020 until present he worked with Jacobs Engineering at the Kennedy Space Center as a Quality Control Specialists.


            In addition to Myles passing, his special friend, Cindi Wells, also passed in the accident. The family sends their condolences to her family as well.


            Leaving to cherish his memories are his daughter, Mia Melene Granberry (Taylor Blanton); his parents, Darbie Merwin Granberry and Hayward Jean Farmer Granberry; his brother, Dowling Granberry (Jenny); his grandsons, Laird Charles Blanton and Ledger Taylor Blanton; his niece, Ady Gean Granberry.
