AUDREY CARR WILLIAMS

 

TEXASVILLE…Audrey Carr Williams, a resident of Crowne Health Care, Eufaula and   formerly of Texasville, died Monday afternoon, January 30, 2012, in Medical Center Barbour.  She was 82.

 

            Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 1, 2012, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Bobby Hines officiating. Burial will follow in New Prospect Free Will Baptist Cemetery between Edwin and Texasville.

 

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, Henry County Camp, P.O. Box 473, Headland, AL 36345.

 

            Mrs. Williams was born and reared in the Edwin Community of Henry County and lived near Texasville all of her adult lifetime. She was retired from the medical office of Dr. Tim Shaw as a Licensed Practical Nurse and had been employed at the Barbour County Nursing Home. In earlier years, she was employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Edwin United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Alto Carr and Bidia Lee Searcy Carr, her husband, Ernest Junior Williams and two brothers, Hubert Carr and Wilson Carr.

 

            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Barbara Williams Knight and husband, John, Eufaula; a brother, Chester Carr and wife, Miriam, Montgomery; two grandchildren, Kristy Howerton and husband, Greg and Brandy Dowling and husband, Treavor all of Eufaula; three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Preston Howerton and Maddie Dowling; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Wright Byers and husband, Harold, Brevard, N.C. and Martha Williams, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.

 

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Treavor Dowling, Greg Howerton, Robert Carr, Joe Ed Carr, Jimmy Carr and Ken Carr.
