HEADLAND…Austin Edward Leach, a resident of Headland, died early Wednesday morning October 24, 2018, in Bessemer, Alabama. He was 24.


     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018, in the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Clayton Nowell, Elder Sam Bryant and Elder John Burkett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


     Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church, P.O. Box 401, Headland, AL 36345.


     Austin was born on November 12, 1993. He was a native of Grimes and was reared in the Tumbleton Community. He was a member of Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church and was an accomplished Eagle Scout, Troop 123 of Headland. Austin is preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Francis Leach, Sr.


     Surviving relatives include his parents, Eddie and Marie Leach, Tumbleton Community; two sisters, Katie Johnston (Jeffrey), Haleburg, and Rebecca Leach, Tumbleton Community; a brother, Garrett Leach, Midland City; his grandparents, Laszlo Kolonusz, Catherine Kolonusz and Patricia Leach; a niece, Adelynn Johnston.


     Serving as active pallbearers will be Eddie Leach, Garrett Leach, Jerry Snellgrove, Kenneth Nowell, James Kolonusz and Joe King.
