Mrs. Avis Andrews Forehand, a resident of Cottonwood, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at her residence. She was 84.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Brother Corey Solomon officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. Flowers are being accepted.

Mrs. Forehand was born March 20, 1935 in Dale County, Alabama to Lunie W. and Pearla Mae Andrews and grew up in the Cottonwood area. She was a 1953 graduate of Cottonwood High School. She retired from the State of Alabama after 25 years of service. Mrs. Forehand was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Dothan.

She is predeceased by her husband, Earl Forehand; children, Tim Forehand and Andy Forehand; a grandson, Drew Forehand; two brothers, Clarence Andrews and Wade Andrews and a sister, Louise James.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Matt Forehand and Amanda Peters (Dwayne); five great grandchildren; a brother, Hermon (Tony) Andrews; two sisters, Virginia Henry and Johnnie Jenkins; several nieces and nephews also survive.
