AVIS DYSON PRICE

ATHENS, AL… Avis Dyson Price, a resident of Athens, Alabama was delivered into God’s hands on Thursday, December 7, 2023, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was 69.

          Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Mike Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery - East. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

          Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

          Avis was born March 16, 1954, in Houston County, Alabama. Her devout Christian faith shaped the person she was and gave her the strength to live with her illness for the last several months.

          Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, Horace J. Dyson and Edna Floyd Carpenter Dyson; Her brothers, David, Billy, Willburn, Cammie Vic Dyson, Sr. and two infant twin siblings, William Mathew Dyson and Lillian Martha Dyson.

          She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Gary Price of Athens, AL; her children, Matt Price of Decatur, AL, Tonya Yeazel (Ryan) of St. Joseph, IL, Nathan Price (Amanda) of Savoy, IL; her nine Grandchildren; and her brother, Elzie Dyson of Seagoville, TX.
