Barbara Diane Howell Coffey of Geneva passed away on February 19, 2020. She was 73 years old.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Geneva with Rev. Ben Vickers and Rev. Tony Rosetta officiating. A reception will follow for family and friends after the memorial service in the church fellowship hall.  The family will host friends at Ms. Coffey’s home on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to visit at their convenience.

Ms. Coffey was born in Geneva, Alabama on July 13, 1946 to the late Phelon and Myrtice Vickers Howell. She loved her hometown of Geneva and was a proud graduate of the Geneva High School Class of 1964. Over the years, Ms. Coffey touched countless lives as an educator, counselor, and friend. She truly had a passion for helping people. She loved many things, but she loved her children most of all.

 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Phillip “Pete” Coffey.

 

She is survived by one daughter, Amie Coffey; one son, Connell Coffey both of Westerly, RI; and one brother, William Mike Howell of Birmingham.
