BARBARA ELAINE HOWARD

HEADLAND, AL… Barbara Elaine Howard, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Saturday morning, April 22, 2023, at her home. She was 73.

?            Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Chaplain Daryl Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery in Avon, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory oversees the arrangements.

?            Mrs. Howard was born in Allegheny Township, Pennsylvania to the late William Charles Woods and Betty Evon Pennington Woods. She worked as a draftsman with Qualico Steel for over 18 years, before she medically retired in 2001. Barbara loved to go (Gooning) “shopping without buying anything” at her favorite place – Walmart. She loved baking and cooking for her family any and every time they came to visit. She actively 

crocheted anything she could for her grand babies. She adored her pets, but the loves of her life, were her family, especially her grandchildren (Tori, Joshua, Koty, Amber, Haylee, Brittany and Jessica) and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.

?            Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy David Howard Sr., and her sons, David Allan Howard and James Byron Howard.

?            Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters,           Barbara Elaine and Todd Comstock, Victoria Evon and Kevin Faulk; her son, Guy David and Loretta Howard; her brothers, Timothy Woods, William “Bill” Woods, and Robert Souve; her canine companion Oreo; and her feline friends, Mr. Slick, Baby Boy, and Little Bear.
