Barbara Hattaway Tyler, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, July 27, 2012. She was 83.


 


Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3 P. M. at the Highland Park United Methodist Church with Reverends Coley Holloway and James Rich officiating. Burial will follow atWebb Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.


The family will receive friends at the church from 2 until 3 P. M. , one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or Memorials may be made to the Highland Park United Methodist Church, 1619 S. Park Ave. Dothan, AL 36301.


Mrs. Tyler was born August 2, 1928 in Walton Co. FL. She graduated from Walton Co. High School in DeFuniak Springs, FL in 1946. She graduated from Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, AL in 1951.


She was married to Rev. Olen Rankin Tyler in 1949. She was employed by Commercial Credit Corp. in Dothan, AL for 33 years until her retirement in 1980.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Rev. Olen Rankin Tyler, her parents W.M. and Mary Esther Infinger Hattaway,  three sisters; Elaine Zuraff, Janie Adams and Clara Jo Kitzmann.  She is survived by her son Philip Olen Tyler and wife Kathy of Auburn;  her daughter Eryn Tyler Pare’ and her husband Robert of Stuart, FL, and  five grandchildren, Emily and Laura Tyler, Ashley, Tyler and Spencer Pare’.  Five sisters; Nell Mason, Tempie Ann Rowell, Rita Hall, Joyce Stafford and Judy Tison and three brothers, Jack, John and Jim Hattaway and  many nieces and nephews
