BARBARA JEAN SEAY

DOTHAN.…Barbara Jean Seay., a resident of Dothan, Alabama, passed away Friday evening, January 1, 2021, at a Dothan hospital.  She was 75.

            A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Memory Hill Cemetery, with the Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

            Ms. Seay was born in Rehobeth, Alabama to the late Woodrow Wilson Cobb and Margarette Reeves Cobb. She was a 1964 Graduate of Rehobeth High School. Shortly after graduation she moved to Enterprise, Alabama. She returned to Dothan, Alabama in 1980 and remained until now. She is retired from the Sony Corporation in Dothan, after 29 years. She is a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Dothan.

            Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Seay; and a grandson, Gavin Seay.

            Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Daronda Seay Thomley (Scott) of Dothan, AL; her son Kevin Seay (Shannon) of Abbeville, AL; her step-daughter, Donna Smith (Terry) of Cottonwood, AL; her sisters, Shirley Manley, and Sue Roberts (Larry); her brothers, Joe Cobb (Linda), and Jerry Cobb (Myra); her grandchildren, Jaden Thomley, Garret Seay, Greer Seay, and Eli Seay; her step-grandchildren, Kim Huff (Clint), and Lee Byrd (Amber); several step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Larry Burkett and his daughter Kim Howell (Sherlon).

            The family wishes to express a special thank you for the love and care that was shown by; Stacey Farris, April Kirkland, and Rachel Mullins during this difficult time.
