Heaven’s light shone a bit brighter in the afternoon of Wednesday, June 30, 2021.  God called His faithful, loving servant, Barbara Spears to her Heavenly home.

Barbara was born on July 6, 1950, in Enterprise, AL.  First and foremost, Barbara was a dedicated wife to Carlton Spears for 34 years and mother to her daughters, Tammy and Amie.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as Nana.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild fulfilled her life.  Barbara was a kind soul and servant to all she came in contact with.  She led her life as a living example of Ephesians 4:32 “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”  Barbara worked for many years at Reliable in Geneva, AL.  Barbara was a faithful member of Beulah Anna Baptist Church in Westville, FL. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Spears; father, Howard Reeves; mother, Mary Frances Linzey; stepfather, Aubrey “Al” Linzey, who helped raise Barbara following the death of her father.  

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Robinson and Amie (Ozzy) Torres; grandchildren Alex (Gage) Burlison, Reeve, Noah and Vale Torres; great grandson Bryson; her sisters, Ann Petty, Janice (Jimmy) Brock, Tonya (Matt) McInnis; and a host of special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral in Geneva, AL. Burial will follow in Beulah Anna Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
