BARBARA SNELLGROVE DESHAZO

HEADLAND.…Barbara Snellgrove DeShazo, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Sunday morning, January 10, 2021, at a Dothan hospital. She was 64.

            Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church – Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. A private burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Tuesday before the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation, or to the Bridge to Tomorrow Fund at First Baptist Church – Headland.

            Mrs. DeShazo was born in Panama City, Florida. She lived most of her life in Headland. She was a 1974 Graduate of Headland High School. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church – Headland. She enjoyed reading, music, the beach, Alabama football, and working with children. Her greatest joy, though, was being with family. She loved being a Wife, a Mom, and a Grandmother.

            Preceding her in death is her father, James Earl Snellgrove.

            Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband, Kim DeShazo; her daughter, Megan DeShazo Hall (Lee) of Headland, AL; her son, Jacob DeShazo (Paige) of Dothan, AL; her mother, Aline Hickman Snellgrove; her sister, Kathy Snellgrove Drew (Jeff); her brother, Jerry Snellgrove (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Kiley Hall, Skyler Hall, Greyson DeShazo, and Grandbaby Hall on the way; her sister-in-law, Sandra DeShazo Prachyl (Mike); her brothers-in-law, Jerry DeShazo (Wanda), Izie DeShazo (Cindy), Mickey DeShazo (Mary); and several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be her nephews.
