Barry Stewart Smith age 65 of Dothan passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022 following an extended illness.  Services will be held Tuesday, April 5th 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with visitation beginning one hour prior.  The family will be gathered at Ralph and Fran’s house. 


Barry was employed with Colonial Bakery for 20 years. He spent his life chasing his passions such as fishing, relic hunting, finding treasure everywhere.  He raised and shared award-winning orchids.  He loved exotic plants and anything he could use to be creative.  He lived life large and in his own way.  He loved everyone he ever met. 


Barry was preceded in death by his mother and father Ralph and Fran Smith. He is survived by his loving brother, Kyle Smith; nephew Jordan Smith; sister-in-law Spring Woodruff and her sons Josh Woodruff and Christian (Samantha) Townsend; Uncle John Doyle (Sara) Woodham; Aunt Francis Woodham; many cousins and close friends. 


Pallbearers will be Steve Fowler, Eric Fuller, David Day, Eddie Woodham, Jim Woodham, Michael Fitzgerald.  Honorary pallbearers Don Hatcher, Fred Johnson, Mace Kirkland.


Barry will be missed by his many friends and family and especially by his brother Kyle. 


Barry would say, “If you don’t see me again in this world, you will see me in the next”.
