     Benny Ray Wilkerson 88 of Elba, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his home. Private graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Marler officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Benny will be remembered as a former parts store owner in Elba, where he dedicated his life satisfying his customers’ needs. He served his country in the United States Army and later retired from the Alabama National Guard. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, and was always willing to help anyone in need.
     He is survived by his children, Michael (Patricia) Wilkerson, Brantley, AL, Benny (Kristi) Wilkerson, Deatsville, AL, Pam Boggess, Elba, AL, and Melissa (Ted) Fillingim, of Jack, Alabama. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, along with three sisters, Patricia Mills of Petrey, AL, Janet Capps of Rutledge, AL, and Genitha Brooks of Montgomery, Alabama.
Mr. Wilkerson was preceded in death by his wife Joan Elizabeth Wilkerson in November 2023, and was anxiously awaiting their reunion.
Hayes Funeral Home of Elba, Alabama was honored to serve the Wilkerson family.
