ABBEVILLE. . .Benny Wayne Lisenby, a resident of Abbeville, died early Friday morning, July 7, 2023, in a Dothan hospital. He was 63.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 9, 2023, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Darden Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
Wayne Lisenby was born in Dothan and moved with his family to Abbeville as a child. He was a graduate of Abbeville Chrisitian Academy and Wallace Community College Sparks Campus where he received a certificate as an electrician. Wayne was retired, due to disability, as an electrician, with various nuclear power plants including Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant at Columbia. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abbeville. Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Benny Carroll Lisenby and a sister, Carole Summers.
Surviving relatives include a son, Lucas Lisenby (Erica), Dothan; his mother, Shirley Lowman Lisenby, Abbeville; a sister, Bonnie Lott (Kenneth), Abbeville; a granddaughter, Ellora Lisenby, nieces, Traci Thompson (Kenny), and Dana Wofford (Jarred), a nephew, Billy Ormes (Teri); several great-nieces and great-nephews.
