BENTLEY GENE HANSEL

EUFAULA, AL.…Bentley Gene Hansel, a resident of Eufaula, AL, formerly of Dothan, AL gained his Angels Wings on Friday, July 24, 2020. He was 7.

            A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, July 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Wright Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Thursday before the service. Wright Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.

            A memorial service will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Sardis Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Joey McCreight officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. before the service.

            Bentley was born in Dothan, Alabama and lived there until moving to Eufaula ten months ago. He had been a student at Midland City Elementary and most recently was a student at Eufaula Primary School. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church in Eufaula. He loved the outdoors and loved all animals. He brought joy to everyone who knew him. He would light up a room when he walked in. Bentley was just an all around good kid.

            He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William “Bud” Leevaughan Smith; his paternal grandfather, Dexter Gene Hansel; his aunts, Donna Jean Hansel, and Judy Lynn Smith; and his uncles, Danny Hansel and Jerry Lane.

            Leaving to cherish his memories are his mother, Beverly Ann Smith of Eufaula, AL; his father, Dexter Dewayne Hansel of Dothan, AL; his sister, Jaylee Marie Hansel of Eufaula; his brothers, Taylor Austin Hansel of Dothan, and Ashton Drake Hansel of Pennsylvania; his maternal grandmother, Judith Ann Wilson Mock of Midland City, AL; his maternal grandfather, James Leon Smith (Alicia) of Selma, AL; his paternal grandmother, Patricia Watford (Jimmy) of Dothan, AL; his maternal great-grandmother, Nell Marie Bearden of Selma, AL; his aunts, Jean Marie Cole (Rafael Verlinden) of Oregon, Tashauna Nicole Harris (Clay) of Midland City, AL, Deanna Killingsworth (Philip) of Dothan, AL, Bethany Oliver (Daniel) of Dothan, AL, Dawn Hansel (Leigh Boswell) of Dothan, AL; his uncle, Mark Bonds (M.J.) of Alligator Point, FL, and a host of cousins.
