Bernard (Bernie) Jennings Petit, among the nation’s finest and the Wiregrass’ only watch and clockmaker, frequent inventor and constant tinkerer, loving father and adoring husband, faithful friend and unwavering believer, went to be with the Maker of time, Jesus Christ, on April 23, after succeeding in making the most of each swing of life’s pendulum—his mainspring stayed wound for 87 productive years.

Left to fondly remember and continue the example of a life fully lived are Bernie’s four children: Peggy, Nelson (Buddy Boy), Billy, and Christy; and the wife he adored, Brunie.

Visitation is at Ward-Wilson Funeral Home Friday from 12 to 2 followed by a 2 o’clock service.
