Bernice Ard Hartman of Hartford, AL passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022. She was 98 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Ard officiating. Burial will follow in the Flat Creek Assembly of God Church with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Bernice was born in Black, AL on May 8, 1924 to the late Daniel Wesley Ard and Dona Stafford Ard Bowers.  Bernice was an avid gardener who also enjoyed working in her flower beds. She was of the Assembly of God faith. In her early years Bernice and her late husband Lorry, lived in Niagara Falls, NY for 30 years. She attended Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, FL, and she also studied at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lorry David Hartman; one sister, Opal Danzey (Charlie); three brothers, Cleo Bowers (Bell), Clyde Bowers, and Wilmer Ard (Gladys).

She is survived by two sisters, Lounett Palmer of Pensacola, FL, and Cecil Danzey Green (Arnold) of Crawfordville, FL; one brother, Claud Bowers (Freeda) of Longwood, FL; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Bowers of Pensacola, FL; and many special nieces and nephews.
