Bertha Helen Cannon Langford of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, and formerly of Ozark, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home.  She was 97. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Thomas Dotson and Reverend William Todd officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens under the direction of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Mrs. Langford was born on July 31, 1916 in Dale County, Alabama, to the late Jody and Molly Goodson Cannon.  Bertha lived all of her life in Ozark, until her health made it necessary to reside with her daughter, Audrey, in Jonesville, Virginia, for the past thirteen years.

In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Herman Langford, and a sister, Mary Cannon Tomlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Audrey Dotson and husband, Fred, of Jonesville, Virginia; sisters, Maureen Knight of Ozark and Pearlie Mae Trammel of Sterling, Colorado; six grandchildren, Patty Pettit and husband, Paul, of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mark Dotson and wife, Gwen, Sheilah Spivey and husband Bobby, Thomas Dotson and wife Martha, and Tony Dotson, all of Jonesville, Virginia, Denean Whittaker and husband Mark of Thomasville, Georgia; eighteen great-grandchildren, Amber Dodds, Jonathon Pettit, Summer Yeary, Brandi Gibson, Justin Dotson, Autumn Taylor, Isaiah Dotson, Jason Dotson, Matthew Dotson, Candice Dotson, Anthony Dotson, Audrey Dotson, Alexis Dotson, Erica Player, Melanie Bowen, Bethany Deaton; step great-grandchildren, Josh and Summer Garrett; fourteen great-great grandchildren, Tyler and Aidan Yeary, Heaven and Jimma Gibson, Keegan Taylor, Gracie and Alli Dotson, James and Jonah Dotson, Joseph and Matthew Player, Hayden Sheffield, and step-great-great grandchildren, Megan and Joe Yeary; special friend, Wanda Posey.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Langford's name to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
