Betty Faye Hanners, a longtime resident of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Southeast Heath. She was 72.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Memphis Baptist Church at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Memphis Baptist Church, 4595 Eddins Road, Dothan, Alabama 36301.

Betty Faye was born April 20, 1950 in Wauchula, Florida to Fred and Carolyn Leatherwood and moved to Taylor at an early age. She attended Taylor Elementary School, Rehobeth High School and Dothan High School. She was a hairdresser for over 50 years and was currently employed with Hair Razors. Betty Faye was an avid reader and was of the Baptist Faith.

She is predeceased by her parents, a son, Ross Brett Sawyer, a daughter, Carletta Sawyer and a brother, Howard Leatherwood.

Survivors include two daughters, Brooke Duby (Anthony) of Dothan and Tiffany Keyes (Chris) of Slocomb; grandchildren, Caleb, Charlesy, Tristan, Zach, Acacia, Lia, Aden and Atlas; a daughter-in-law, Hannah Sawyer; a sister-in-law, Jennie Branton of Taylor; an aunt, Patsy Clearman of Dothan; two brothers, Max Earle of Abbeville and Gary Earle of Newville, several nieces and nephews.
