Miss King was a lifelong resident of Pinckard, daughter of the late Charles Watson King, Sr. and Flossie Estelle Hayes King. She was a member of the Pinckard Baptist Church. Miss King was retired from U. S. Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a secretary in the U. S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory. She was preceded in death by a sister, C. Helen King Myers and two brothers, Phillip Douglas King and Charles Watson (Buddy) King, Jr.

Miss King was born on May 9, 1922 in Coffee County and graduated from high school in 1941.  She loved her faith, family and friends. Miss King faithfully served her church through teaching Girls In Action, by singing in the choir and by attending Bible studies.  She served those she loved and was a caregiver for many years for her mother and sister. Miss King overcame many obstacles, like two broken arms at the same time, a brain tumor and two house fires. She was victorious in all these circumstances due to the Lord’s grace and her perseverance, which inspired everyone.  Her testimony was one of Revelation 12:11, “They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
