Betty Jean Grantham

 

Betty Grantham, age 75 of Midland City passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, 1 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Clayhatchee, Alabama officiated by Pastor Don Clark. Visitation will be Thursday December 1, 2022, 5-7 p.m. at Family First Funeral Care Chapel.  

She was born September 13, 1947 to Earnest H. Cason and Inez Anderson Cason of Midland City.  She was a lifetime resident of Midland City where she attended Midland City Community Church.  She worked as a fabric cutter at Southeast Performance Apparel.  She enjoyed shopping with her daughter and grandchildren, going to the beach, watching wrestling and western shows.  Her favorite person was Dolly Parton. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; a son Ricky Grantham; Brother-in-law James “Troy” McWhorter.

Survivors include her son, John S. Grantham (Michelle); daughter Debra Grantham; five grandchildren Chelsey Sutton, Sydney Higgins (Brian), Katie Grantham, Austin Grantham, Justin Grantham; 1 great grandchild Noah Higgins and one on the way; sister Jeanette McWhorter; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.  Also surviving are her beloved canine companions Emma, Littlebit, Gracie, Brownie and Lola Baby.
