Betty Jewell Bowers of Samson, AL passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at her home.   She was 94.

 A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1717 Oak Grove Rd, Westville, FL, 32464, with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL, directing and Jewell’s Grandson-in-Law, Tony Wilson and Rev. Jimmy Eddins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request for memorial contributions to be made to Weeks Memorial Assembly of God, 263 Harvest Time, Samson, AL 36477 (Physical address: 2801 County Road 5, Kinston, AL 36453).

Mrs. Bowers was born in Darlington, FL on Monday, July 19, 1929, to the late Andy Lee and Rachel Hall Johnson. She loved her family so much and enjoyed fellowshipping with everyone. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Rev. Kermit R Bowers, her parents, and nine of her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by her special sister, Brunetta Brannon of Dothan, AL; two daughters, Brenda Johnson (David) of Kinston, AL and Rita Adkison (Larry) of Geneva, AL; four grandchildren, Amanda Biddle (Doug), Amy Wilson (Tony), Rona Hutchison (Ryan), and Ann Mock (Jim); five great grandchildren, Brent Nobles, Breeann Biddle, Ross Wilson (Grace), Jacob Mock, Meredith Grace Wilson, and  Roman Hutchison; and a very special niece Shirley Bowers Ginovsky (Bob) with number of other special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 Serving as active pallbearers will be Doug Biddle, Breeann Biddle, Ryan Hutchison, Jim David Mock, Jacob Mock, Brent Nobles, Meredith Grace Wilson, Ross Wilson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry Adkison, Roman Hutchison, and David Johnson.
