A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm Saturday June 18, 2022 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the celebration.

She is survived by her lifelong sweetheart and husband of almost 58 years, ThomasMartin, and their four children: Thom Martin of Morann, PA, Debbie Martin of Tallahassee, FL, Jeff Martin (Myra) of Dothan, AL, and Melissa Greenawalt (Eric) of Tallahassee, FL. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Linda) Laskowsky of Evans City, PA. Betty was a loving Mema, and was adored by her 8 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kostack and Anna Laskowsy, brother, John Laskowsky and her beloved dog, Yoshi.

Betty grew up in Morann, PA. She would spend her summers at a camp in Connecticut which is where she met her future husband. As luck would have it, he only lived a mile away! They were married and started their family shortly after. Betty had a competitive side and spent her weekends playing cards and volleyball with friends and participating on her church bowling team. She was the heart of the family. She brought everyone together for holidays and special occasions and made sure all family members were taken care of in times of need.

After making wonderful memories in her hometown, Betty moved with her family to Dothan, Alabama where she worked at Swedish Match for over 20 years. Betty was a very talented and creative person. She expressed her artistic side through painting, drawing, making jewelry and sewing quilts for her family. She was very passionate about cooking and enjoyed preparing delicious dishes for her family. She especially loved to create Polish delicacies which included her famous nut horns that were a family favorite during the holidays. Betty was a selfless person and it brought her great joy to spoil her loved ones. She also made it a point to regularly give to charities that were dear to her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and telling stories of her mischievous younger years which would often leave everyone in tears from laughing so hard. As the matriarch of her family she set a great example of what a wife, mother and friend should be. She was admired by all who met her. Betty was God’s gift to her family, and she will truly be missed. “Beneath her innocent eyes, mischief lies...”
