Betty Pearl Welch Baskin Hodges, 82, of 411 Dexter St., Dothan, AL passed away at her residence Monday evening Nov. 11, 2019. Her funeral will be held at the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Murkerson officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Cedar Spring Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hodges was born in Ashford, AL on October 28, 1937 to the late Lannie Oakley Welch and Eunice Jordan Welch. She was a member of the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by a son, John Marcus Baskin, two sisters; Merle Welch Hodges and Dean Welch Evans, by one brother, J. D. "Bud" Welch. Her survivors include three daughters; Gail B. Hudson, Sherry B. Lynn both of Dothan, AL and Brenda Cashwell and Roger of Blakely, GA, by two sons; William Gregory Baskin and Pam of Hamilton, GA and Robert Lee Baskin of Dothan, AL. She is also survived by two sisters; Debra Welch Cloud of Dothan, AL and Sandra Gipson of Phenix City, AL, six brothers; Homer Welch and Odell Welch and Sue all of Blakely, GA, Freddie Welch of Thomasville, GA, Gary Welch and Dianne of Climax, GA, Ronnie Welch and Jennifer of Jakin, GA and Eddie Welch of Dothan, AL. There are 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to send out a special thank you for the care given to their mother by the staff of Kindred Hospice.
