Bettye Adkinson Averett age 86, a former resident of Elba, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Kelly Place Assisted Living in Enterprise, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 6, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday morning, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

She is survived by her Daughter - Donna (Tim) Bullard, Coffee Springs, AL, Son - Steven (Charlotte) Adkinson, Son - Richard Adkinson, Elba, AL, Step-Daughter - Nancy (Michael) Long, Banks, AL, Step-Daughter - Stephanie (Randy) Huff, Clarksville, TN, and Step-Son - Robert (Frissee) Averett of Auburn, AL. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha Crawley Lashley and Walter Robert Lashley, along with two husbands Waylon Adkinson, and Fred A. Averett, Jr.
