Billy Clark Payne, 78, of Napier Field passed away Thursday, November 10, 2011 at a local hospital.


Memorial services will be held 2 pm Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.


Mr. Payne was born August 12, 1933 in Georgia to the late William and Bonnie Payne and spent the early part of his life in Winter Haven and Orlando, FL. He moved to Midland City in 1974 and has lived in Napier Field for the past 20 years. Mr. Payne was a meat cutter most of his life and worked at Tice's IGA and Roney's IGA. He was an avid fisherman and loved to read in his spare time. He was a very special person to those who knew and loved him and he will be missed very much. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Bonnie Payne, his wife Ida "Nell" Payne, a sister Edna Payne, and a brother Jimmy Payne.


Survivors include his sister Evelyn Roach of Greensburg, PA; his sons, Billy Payne, Jr. of Florida, Bill Payne of Midland City, and Johnny McAllister (Sherri) of Midland City; his daughters, Pamela McAllister (Scott Tyree) of Midland City and Debbie Payne of Florida; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a special friend Philip Beavis also survives.
