COLUMBIA. . .Billy Eugene Parker, a resident of Columbia, died Thursday, November 21, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. He was 57.

     There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time.

     Gene Parker was a lifelong resident of Columbia and was a graduate of the Houston County High School. He was employed for many years as a painter with Parker Paints of Columbia. Gene was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Gene Parker and a nephew, Corey Harrison.

     Surviving relatives include his mother, Shirley Brackin Bumpus, a sister, Anita Parker Harrison, two brothers, Terry Lynn Parker and Toby Ray Parker, all of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.

     The family would like to express their appreciation to SouthernCare Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Gene during his illness.
