Billy Jack Scarbrough age 73, a resident of Elba, Alabama passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at the New Haven Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, October 4, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM with Chaplin Lisa Eller of Southern Care hospice officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the New Haven Baptist Church cemetery fund.

Jack will be remembered by his family and friends as being a generous soul. He never hesitated to lend help to a family member of friend when a need arose. He enjoyed his career as a truck driver and often took his son and his faithful four legged companion on trips with him. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and enjoyed the comradery with other Veterans.

Scarbrough leaves behind a Son - Billy Jack Scarbrough (Crystal Hinton), Elba, AL, a Granddaughter - Aryssa Scarbrough, Elba, AL, Sister - Charlotte Dawkins Fuller, Opp, AL, Brother - Gerald (Carol) Dawkins, Elba, AL, Brother - C. P. (Joan) Dawkins, Eufaula, AL, and Brother - Gary (Jeanette) Dawkins of Jack, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his Father - Roy Scarbrough and Mother - Mattie Lee Dawkins, along with two brothers Jerry Dawkins, and Roy Douglas Scarbrough.
