DOTHAN...Billy Joe Hughes, a resident of  Dothan, died late Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2016, at his home. He was 75.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2016, in the Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Steve Trail  officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 1461 Timbers Drive, Dothan, Alabama 36301.

            Mr. Hughes was a native of Dothan, son of the late Henry Clyde Hughes and Lucille Crutchfield Hughes. He lived in Dothan most of his lifetime where he was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was retired as a glass glazier and was also formerly self-employed as a landscaper. Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry Glen Hughes, Robert Daniel Hughes and James Wilson Hughes, and a sister, Robbie Branton.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Martha Ann Brogden Hughes, Dothan; two sons, Greg Hughes (Kim), Ozark and David Hughes, Montgomery; a sister and two brothers; three grandchildren, Blake Hughes, Logan Hughes and Jacob Hughes; a sister-in-law, Lougenia Sheppard, Hendersonville, NC.
