SPRING CITY, TN. . . . Billy Ray Harper, a resident of Spring City, TN, died Monday, April 30, 2012, at his home. He was 45.



            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 4, 2012, in the Shorterville Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the Shorterville Baptist Cemetery in Shorterville, Alabama. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.



            Mr. Harper was born in Donalsonville, Georgia and reared in East Dublin, Georgia and in Henry County, Alabama, son of the late James Edward Harper and Annette Hewett Harper.  He moved to Spring City, Tennessee in 2002 where he was employed by Local Union No. 52, Montgomery, Alabama as a pipefitter. 



            Surviving relatives include his wife Janie Lane Harper, Spring City, TN; two daughters, Rebecca Harper and Kristena Harper, both of Newton, AL; three sons, Adam Lane and wife, Savannah, Jesse Harper, and Billy Todd Harper, all of Spring City, TN; three brothers, Mike Harper and wife, Kathy, Cadwell, GA, Ed Harper and wife, Allie, Tennille, GA and Gerald Harper and wife, Allison, Dublin, GA; one sister, Beverly Sauls, Wills Cross Roads, AL; four grandchildren, Breouna, Felisha, Marissa and Sarah Morgan.
