Billy Ray Lewis, 80, of Dothan, AL, has gone to his Heavenly reward. Mr. Lewis passed away August 21, 2022 at Extendicare Health Center in Dothan, AL. He was 80.

Graveside funeral services will be Friday, August 26, 2022 at 11 a.m. from Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Westville, Florida. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva will direct with services and eulogy conducted by his brother, Benny John Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was born to Dewey Ketchum and Mary Beulah Warren Lewis on November 18, 1941, in Samson, AL. He was the youngest of 7 children. Early challenges did not diminish his zest for life. He loved Atlanta Braves baseball, Alabama football, and had a true heart for children. Christmas was a favorite time of year as he belted out classic carols. He was always eager to greet people and enjoyed making them laugh.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his brother, Benny John Lewis, Milton, FL; sister, Mary Jean Wise, Marianna, FL; brother, Paul Lewis and wife Norma, Cantonment, FL; niece and guardian, Sandra Shortt, Dothan, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by parents, Dewey Ketchum Lewis and Mary Beulah Warren Lewis, sister, Helen Lewis Aplin, brother, James Edward Lewis, sister, Doris Lewis Corbin.
