BOBBY  B.  HOWELL

HEADLAND…..Bobby B. Howell, a resident of County Road 22, Headland, died early Tuesday morning, October 25, 2011, in a Dothan hospital. He was 73.

           

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 27, 2011, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Steve Trail and Reverend Fred Hersey officiating. Burial will follow in the Dothan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Headland.

           

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 1461 Timbers Drive, Dothan, AL 36301.

           

Mr. Howell was born and reared in Dothan, son of the late Marin Luther Howell and Annie Lee Baxter Howell. He lived in Dothan most of his lifetime before moving near Headland twenty-five years ago. Mr. Howell retired from Michelin as an Inspector. After retirement, he owned and operated Howell’s Guns and Ammo. In earlier years, Mr. Howell was employed by Johnston Auto Parts, Taylor Auto Parts and Dothan Auto Parts. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Dothan. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by a brother, Byron Henry Howell.

           

Surviving relatives include his wife of fifty-four years, Patsy Newton Howell, Headland; a son, Kimball Howell and wife, Sharon, Headland; a brother, Billy Howell and wife, Sharon, Dothan; two grandchildren, Hannah Christian Howell and Tiffany Nicole Hudmon and husband, Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Alexia Byrd and Cole Hudmon.

           

Serving as active pallbearers will be Doyle Miller, Andy Mitchell, Jerry Bedsole, Don Francis, Kenny Childree and Warren Holloway.
