A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Malvern Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Malvern Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Wednesday at the church.

Bobby Edward Williams, a resident of Taylor, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness. He was 82 years old.


A celebration of his life will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Malvern Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Malvern Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Wednesday at the church.


Bob was born on September 18, 1940 in Marianna, Florida to the late Edward and Louise Bruner Williams. He lived most of his life in that area and after high school he joined the United States Navy where he served on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier. He moved to Chicago for several years and later moved back to Florida. Bob began working with AIG Insurance and later moved to Dothan as a General Manager. After his retirement, Bob began working in the funeral business as a Funeral Director for several years. He was a member of Malvern Baptist Church and a previous member of Taylor Baptist Church. He was a fun and loving person and his favorite hobby was working outdoors. Bob also loved his Florida Gators.


Bob leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 25 years, Sylvia Williams, Taylor, AL; his son, Bob Williams, Jr., Chicago, IL; his grandson, Logan Williams, Chicago, IL; his daughter, Jessica (Mark) Quagi, Ellenwood, GA; daughter, Angela Finch, Taylor, AL; granddaughter, Kelly (Scott) Parrish, Taylor, AL; great-grandson, Liam Parrish, Taylor, AL; grandson, Chase (Kelsay) Finch, Ft. Wayne, IN; and other extended family.


Serving as active pallbearers will be James Wells, Randall Hinson, Johnny Mack Hughes, Heath Murphy, Greg Roland, and Marty Glover.


The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Enhabit Hospice for the care and concern shown to them during Bob’s illness.
