Bobby Helms of Enterprise, AL passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation and is now enjoying heaven.  He will be missed by countless people.  He was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends in the sanctuary from 10:00 AM until service time.  Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Youth Department, 302 North Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.

Bobby Helms was born on September 19, 1934 to the parents of Ruby and Porter Macon Helms.  He married Nancy Helms and together they had two sons.

Most have met my wonderful dad either at Country Best Farm, or around town. When you met my dad, you could tell he was full of wisdom and you always felt like you left wiser after meeting him. You never saw my dad without a tool in his hand, fixing something that broke down, or on the tractor. He has had a tremendous impact on this community by providing something to eat around the dinner table, a quick snack like a satsuma, or easing pain by cracking and shelling pecans.

Mr. Helms was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Helms; son, Rand Helms who passed away at the age of 25; and a brother, Jerry Helms.

Survivors include his son, Joshua Helms, Enterprise, AL; and several other relatives and friends.
