Bobby Lee Jones 

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Bobby Lee Jones a resident of Dothan, AL passed away at his home. He was 68. Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Lee Jones will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Family First Funeral Care Chapel with visitation beginning at 12 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery. 

Bobby Lee Jones was a loving brother and father of 7 children. Bobby was born on August 27, 1952 in Madison County, Alabama to the late Cleola Jones Joiner and Melvin Parker. He was raised by the late Calvin Joiner who nurtured Bobby into the kind gentle man he was. Bobby moved to Dothan, Alabama around 1968 from Huntsville, AL. Bobby attended the original Dothan High School and after graduation enlisted in the US Army in 1974. After serving his country, Bobby was employed as a general contractor specializing in finishing concrete. On March 8, 2020 Bobby accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Stringer Street AME Church. He was very passionate about Martial Arts, dancing, shooting pool and roller skating. He was known for his quick humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. 

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother Cleola Jones Joiner, biological father Melvin Parker, and his loving father Calvin F. Joiner. 

Bobby is survived by his seven children: Cornelius Bennett, Marico (Kimberly) Bennett, Keshia Durr, Arletha (James) McCray, and MarTina Durr, Katrone Dunlap, and Antwan Durr, Five brothers, Billy Joiner, James (Phyllis) Joiner, Anthony Joiner, Reginald Joiner, and Marcus Joiner; five sisters Lorraine Jennings, Brenda Varner, Diane (Jeff) Jackson, Cynthia (Keith) Matthews, and Gloria (James) Roper and a special niece Lakeesha Richardson.

Bobby was blessed with 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
