Brad Morris

A celebration of Brad's life will be held at 2 pm on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Covenant Methodist Church, with Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family are welcome to gather and share memories at the church from 1-2 pm before the service. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the Dothan Rescue Mission or Wiregrass Food Bank in Brad’s honor.

Brad Morris, age 49, a man of deep faith and boundless generosity, passed away on December 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with an extended illness. Born on April 3, 1974, in Ozark, Alabama, Brad was a beacon of light and love to all who knew him. He departed this earth in Dothan, Alabama, surrounded by the warmth of his loving family.

Brad was a graduate of Dothan High School's class of 1992. His pursuit of excellence led him to the University of South Alabama, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Finance. He channeled his knowledge and passion into a successful career as a private insurance broker, where he was respected for his integrity and dedication.

In 2012, Brad married the love of his life, Lauren Beth Morris. Together, they created a beautiful blended family, including his daughters Brae Lee Morris and Bre Ann Morris, step-son John Michael McAllister, and step-daughter Molly McAllister. Brad was the cherished son of Bobby and Mary Morris, a supportive brother to Randy (Wendy) Morris and Brandi Gilland, and a fun-loving uncle to Brooke, Rachel, Gage, and Grady.

Brad was a devoted member of Covenant Methodist Church, where he lived out his faith through service. Whether ushering or providing a helping hand, he embodied the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "For it is in giving that we receive." His commitment to his church and community was evident in his every action.

A man who took great pride in his children's achievements, Brad was their steadfast supporter in all their academic and personal endeavors. His kind and generous spirit extended beyond his family, touching the lives of many through his work with Dothan Rescue Mission and the Wiregrass Food Bank. Brad found joy in serving hot meals to the homeless alongside his family, a testament to his compassionate nature.

Family nights, especially those spent watching funny movies, were special to Brad. A huge Alabama Football fan, he cherished Saturdays spent cheering for his beloved team, exclaiming, "Roll Tide!" with enthusiasm. His love for the outdoors was reflected in his enjoyment of beach walks, great meals, and swimming in the ocean.

Brad's humor was a source of joy for his friends and family. He relished time at his cabin watching wildlife and shared his love for coin collecting with his children, passing on the thrill of discovery. His K9 companions, Coco, Zoey, and Dumplin, the dog that became his shadow, were beloved members of his family.

Brad's legacy is one of a faith-filled, generous, and loving man who made the world a better place through his actions and his laughter. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a beacon of God's love in the world. As we say goodbye to Brad, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
