     Ms. Brenda Joyce Greathouse Smith of Hartford passed away Monday, November 21, 2011.  She was 56. 

     Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on  Friday, November 25, 2011 in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Les Shaver officiating and with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

      The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 until service time.

      Mrs. Brenda was born on March 1, 1955 in Geneva County, AL to the late Crawford and Beulah Yeomans Greathouse. 

 Mrs. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents as well as a sister, Betty Jo Elmore.

      Survivors include her two daughters:  Kimberly Sellers Thomas (Ralph) of Hartford, Michelle Shaver (Les) of Porum, OK; one son:  Brandon Smith of Slocomb; eight grandchildren:  Cai Ashley Parks, Hunter Shaver, Kylee Shaver, Colton Shaver, Cord Parks, Gabby Owens, Julianne Thomas, Ashleigh Thomas; two great grandchildren:  Niko Parks, Brayden Hughes; three sisters:  Mary Ann Moore of Dothan, Jo Ann Butler (Harold) of Slocomb, Ann Greathouse of Dothan; four brothers:  Kenny Greathous (Luanne) of Rehobeth, Thomas Greathouse (Dawn) of Midland City, Billy Joe Greathouse and Joe Michael Greathouse both of Slocomb; several nieces and nephews.
