SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS…Brooke Daughtry Wilkison, a resident of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Dothan, died late Monday night, April 29, 2019, in a San Antonio hospital. She was 40.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, May 5, 2019, in the First United Methodist Church of Dothan with Dr. James B. Sanders, III, Reverend Steve Bates and The Reverend Canon Katie Bradshaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday in the church parlor. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Humane Society, P.O. Box 1045, Dothan, AL 36302, or the Bulverde Humane Society, P.O. Box 50, Bulverde, TX 78163, or the Tuscany Heights Library, 25001 Wilderness Oak, San Antonio, TX 78260.
Brooke Wilkison was born and reared in Dothan. She was a graduate of Northview High School and attended Wallace Community College. Brooke lived in Montgomery Village, Maryland, before moving to San Antonio in 2014. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Montgomery Village, Maryland. She worked at the Children’s Ministry at the Concordia Lutheran Church in San Antonio. Her passions included volunteering at her children’s school, working with youth, and rescuing every stray dog she came across. She enjoyed her family and their frequent camping adventures. Brooke was preceded in death by her grandparents, Othell and Janie Bradshaw and Fox and Evelyn Daughtry.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Major (Dr.) Bart D. Wilkison; her daughter, Anna Belle Wilkison; her son, Brady Mitchell Wilkison; her mother, Gloria Bradshaw Daughtry, Dothan; her father, Mickey Daughtry (Charlotte), Dothan; her sister, Shelley Daughtry Smith (Russell), Dothan; her brother, Blake Daughtry, Dothan; step-brother, Cole Coker; step-sister, Carly Coker; nieces, Jaci Wilkison, Libby Hufham and Kate Hufham; nephews, Bryce Daughtry, Jeb Daughtry and Cash Smith; several aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mel and June Wilkison, Greenwood, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Darin Wilkison (Jeni), Lincoln Nebraska.
