Brother Bob Cox of Geneva passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019.  He was 68.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Tommy Fountain officiating.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hacoda Baptist Church, 4196 State Highway 54, Kinston, AL 36453.


Mr. Cox was born in Fayetteville, NC on July 29, 1951, to the late Emmette Wooten Cox and Lydia McCaskill Cox.  He graduated from Terry Samford High School, Class of 1970.  He was a graduate of Morris Junior College in Melbourne, FL and the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, FL.  At the time of his passing, Brother Bob was the pastor of Hacoda Baptist Church. He retired from the Geneva City School System.  He served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. In his pastime, he loved to go fishing.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends at C&M Grocery.


He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Carol Cox of Geneva; two sons, Robert Cox (Andrea) of Enterprise, and Chris Cox (Tiffanie) of Auburn; two grandchildren, Hannah Cox Bodine (Matt) of Auburn, and Blake Cox of Enterprise; great-grandson, Owen Bodine; two sisters, Donna Cox Peters (Rick) of Pinehurst, NC, and Katherine Cox Symmes (Jim) of Greenville, SC; two nephews, Andrew and Brian Symmes; and two nieces, Chloe and Sarah Peters.  He loved his boys and grandchildren, and he will be dearly missed.
