Brother Thaxton Marion Whiddon of Dothan passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 83.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Selma Baptist Church with Dr. Brent Parker and Reverend Michael Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2012. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Taylor Baptist Church Building Fund.
Bro. Whiddon began his ministry in December 1953, and has served his Lord faithfully for 59 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Dempsey Whiddon and Mattie Matthews Whiddon,son, Kem Allen Whiddon, three brothers, and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Whiddon of Taylor; sons, Larry F. Whiddon and his wife, LuNeal of Taylor; Danny Whiddon of Taylor; Jonathan Whiddon and his wife, Tracey of Taylor; Grady Whiddon and his wife, Danielle of Taylor; grandchildren, Ryan Whiddon, Amanda Whiddon, Ginger Boyett, Patrick Whiddon, Anna Whiddon, Miles Whiddon, Alyssa Solomon, Daniel Whiddon, and five great-grandchildren.
