COTTONWOOD, ALABAMA. . .Bruce Lionel “Butch” Long, Jr., a resident of Cottonwood, died Saturday afternoon, June 17, 2023, at his home. He was 70.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 21, 2023, in the Mount of Olives Memorial Garden Cemetery, Cottonwood, with Randy Herring officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516

            Bruce Long was born and reared in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War era. Bruce lived in McVeytown, PA, Headland, and Lewistown before moving to Cottonwood in 2017. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Lionel Long, Sr. and his mother, Velma Woods Greer.

            Surviving relatives include his wife , Lisa Stine Long; four sons, Josh Long (Stacy), Yeagertown, PA; James Booney, Cottonwood; Mike Booney (April), and Justin Booney (Marie), all of Lewistown, PA; grandchildren, Rylee Long, Levi Clark, Jayden Mustard, Savannah Booney, James “Little Man” Booney, III and Mason Long.
