Buford Daniel “Dan” Rainwater, Jr., a resident of Dothan, passed away on February 24, 2021. He was 70.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. Graveside with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
Dan was born on October 18, 1950. He served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years before retiring. Dan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years, Lucinda Jo Darts Rainwater.
He is survived by his son, Joshua (Amy) Rainwater; his daughters, Kasey Lee Rainwater (Ronnie Smith) and Janie (Brian) Conroy; his six grandchildren, Austin (Sandra) Sims, Michael Norsworthy, Kay-Leigh Norsworthy, Bailey Conroy, Jacob Daniel Rainwater, and Jacob Conroy; and several extended family members.
