ABBEVILLE. . .Cabiness Daniel Beasley, a resident of Abbeville, died early Thursday morning, December 8, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 10, 2022, in the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church with Reverend Terry Drinkwater officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Beasley was born in Arlington, Georgia, son of the late Gordon Beasley and Jennie Mae Harrell Beasley. Mr. Beasley moved to Abbeville in 1984. He retired from the U. S. Army with rank of  Staff Sergeant and served his country in the Vietnam War. After retirement from the military, he was employed at the Lyster Army Hospital at Ft. Rucker where he retired as a Chef. Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Blalock Beasley, a son, David Cabiness Beasley, two sisters, Wanda Sue Beasley and Patsy Beasley, and four brothers, Presley Beasley, Calvin Beasley, Bert Beasley and Alvin Beasley.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Penny Rogers (Glenn), two sons, Toney Beasley and Bryant Beasley (Teresa), all of Abbeville; two brothers, Elvin Beasley (Evelyn)Newton, GA; and Wade Beasley (Pat), Cussetta, Ga; grandchildren, Sabrina Rogers, Walker Whitehead (Delta), Shannon Whitehead (Kenny),  Stephen Beasley, Stephanie Beasley, Robin Wilson (Steven),  Jessica Beasley (Brian), Samantha Beasley, Cortney Beasley and Jamie Whitehead; numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.
