Callice "Cal" Homer Caylor, Jr., 66, of Dothan passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 at his residence.


Funeral services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy White officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.


Mr. Caylor was born July 4, 1945 in Minneola, FL and spent the early part of his life in Winter Garden and Defuniak Springs, FL. He joined the U.S. Army at an early age and served for over 25 years. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart Award. He retired from the Army in 1989 and worked at Scotty’s and Home Depot until his retirement in 2006. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the American Legion both of which he devoted a lot of his spare time. Mr. Caylor was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Caylor, 3 sisters and 1 brother.


Survivors include his wife Sheila Caylor of Dothan; sons, Larry Caylor of California and Shawn Caylor of Dothan; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Jean Urchaske and Joyce Quintana both of Florida.
